Collapse ▲NC 4-H’ers Bring Home Eastern National 4-H Horse Round Up Wins
The North Carolina 4-H Horse Program Delegation had an outstanding showing at the recent Eastern National 4-H Horse Round Up in Louisville, Kentucky. Teams and individuals from 27 different states competed in Horse Judging, Horsebowl, Hippology and Communications events. North Carolina was represented very well in all events. Here is a summary of the results:
Hippology
The North Carolina Hippology team was comprised of Wake County 4-H’ers, Scout Biggs, Ruth Huggins, Sarah Morgan and Chloe Pacyna. The team was coached by Wake County Volunteer leader Beth Morgan.

Communications Contests
The North Carolina 4-H Communications team was made up of Jamie Gillespie from Currituck County, Public Speaking; Grace Law of Cabarrus County, Individual Presentation; Audrey and Aurora Myers from Halifax County, Team Presentation. Gloria Gillespie, Kim Law and Jodie Knight served as the respective coaches for these young ladies. Contest results are as follows:

The North Carolina Horsebowl team was comprised of Sierra Simmerman and Jennifer Choe from Union County and Laura Dickerson and Maddie Edwards from Chatham County. The team was coached by Union County Volunteer Leader Angela Kaus.

The North Carolina Horse Judging team was made up of Wake County 4-H’ers Anna Ahlers and Hannah Sather and Nash County 4-H’er Michaela Vick and Union County 4-H’er Jessica Smith. The team was coached by Bill Crouse, Wake County 4-H Volunteer Leader.

For winning High Overall Individual in their contests, Sarah Morgan, Grace Law and Anna Ahlers all received a $500 scholarship from the American Quarter Horse Association. Sarah also received a trophy from the American Saddlebred Association, Grace and Hannah Sather received trophies from the Arabian Horse Association for their wins and Anna Ahlers was awarded a trophy from the American Quarter Horse Association.
