— Written By

New to the 2018 NC State 4-H Hippology Contest is a Cloverbud division for youth ages 5-8. This will be a non-competitive event and all participants will receive recognition of participation. There is no cost to enter, but youth must be pre-registered on the contest entry form.

The contest schedule will be as follows:

8:15-1:00

Cloverbud Hippology

Riddick Hall Lab 336

Cloverbuds and their parents/volunteer/adult chaperone can navigate the self-serve Stations and Judging portion of this event.

There will be a series of multiple choice stations (20 questions total) and 2 “poster classes” of horse judging. Youth can have a parent/volunteer/adult chaperone accompanying them and serve as a reader and/or guide. After completing the 2 phases, answer keys will be available to review answers. Participating youth will be recognized at the event award ceremony in the evening (in Riddick 301). If a youth will not be able to attend the evening ceremony, they can receive their prizes in Lab 340 when they finish the phases.

If you have questions, please email or call Lori Stroud.
